Emily Au

Emily Au is a young pianist and scholar specializing in musician health and wellness development, with a focus on injury prevention in performance and education. In 2024, she became the first and currently the only licensed Body Mapping Educator and authorized instructor in Greater China to teach "What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body."

She is committed to promoting wellness in her teaching and has been invited to give presentations at numerous international music festivals and conferences on this subject matter. Her dedication has been recognized with multiple Outstanding Teacher Awards, and students under her tutelage have consistently achieved top prizes in international competitions, including the Oxford International Piano Open Competition (UK), IPPA Conero International Piano Competition (Italy), and the Macau Lotus Cup Youth Piano Competition.

A sought-after collaborative pianist, Emily has performed across Macau, Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the United States. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Piano Performance from Wright State University, where she was awarded a full scholarship and received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award.

Emily is currently a doctoral candidate and teaching assistant in performance practice and pedagogy at the Academy of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University, and serves as part-time faculty at the Macao Conservatory and the Academia de Musica S. Pio X.
